修心法要--海濤法師輯

5.如果有貪愛或憎惡,意味著有因存在,有因就會有果。如果有生,就會有滅,這就是自然。
5. Nothing comes of nothing.  Love or hate is the effect, which must denote a corresponding cause.  While there is a cause, there would be an effect; so is the case of the existence and extinction.  And that is the law of nature.

  
6.當貪愛與執著存在時,就會有憎惡與反感。如果有天堂可達,未來就有地獄可入,反之亦然。
6. Hatred and dislikes will appear when there is an attachment and desire. Likewise, when there is an access to heaven, there』s also one to hell, and vice versa.


  
9.心是一切行為的根源。
9. Our Mind is the only source of all actions.



14.心本身事實上是自由的,因為執著而有痛苦。
14. Our Mind is primordially free and unstained, suffering only arises when there is attachment.



17.見就只是見,覺就只是覺,心與境皆如實呈現,不再加油添醋,創造無明的印象。
17. When you see, just see. When you feel, just feel. Let all subject-object related phenomena manifest themselves as they are, no judgments,  no labels. Hence without any trace of ignorance.



3.無論人們來自何處,我們都應該同樣關心,無論親疏遠近,都應該給予相同的愛。
3. Love and care about others equally -  without any discrimination.



9.尚未生起的善法,要努力令它生起;已生起的惡法,即使只有一點點,也要努力斷除。
9. Cultivate the ingenerated virtue and eliminate even a little tiny vice.


13.禪定的意思是指心穩固不動,並且以正念正知,隨時保持心的穩定。
13. Meditation refers to a mind state which is stable and immovable, sustained and sealed by  mindfulness and awareness.



18.了解心的平靜是什麼,才是正確的修行之道。
18. A Peaceful Mind is the Key to correct practice.



1.我們被世間所依賴的裝飾與美化所欺騙。
1. We are often fooled by the outer world which has been artificially decorated and beautified.



5.一個有智慧的人,不需要事事都要求完美,重點在於看破並放下世間的假象,以獲得解脫。
5. For a wise person, the ability to see through the illusion of the mundane world and let go of it to gain liberation is more important than to be perfect in everything.



6.當你不再被迷惑時,就可以解脫表相的束縛。
6. When you are not fooled by the seeming, you are no longer confined by it.



14.無論發生什麼事,都以無常的認知,隨它們去。
14. Whatever happens, let it flow away with the view of impermanence.


15.沒有什麼東西是永恆的,空即是一切,那就是實相。
15. Nothing lasts; and everything is marked by emptiness. That is the Absolute Reality. 


16.當現象生起時,你持續堅壁清野;當事物淨空時,你便維持等舍之心。
16. When a phenomenon arises, keep your mind solid and clear; when the phenomenon dissolves, stay in a mind of equanimity.


2.沒有貪著,痛苦就無從依附,智慧在一切情況下都會生起。
2. When you are free from attachment, suffering will end and the wisdom shall arise spontaneously.


3.修行:先從打好地基開始,做一個正直與誠實的人;其次,對於惡行具有慚愧心;第三,保持謙卑,少欲知足。
3. In terms of spiritual practice,  being an honest and upright person is the masis.  What follows are a heart of repentance as well as humility and contentment.


6.「蚊子有什麼用?」如果站在蚊子的立場想:「人有什麼用?」
6. 「What’s the use of mosquitoes?」 said mankind.  「What’s the use of mankind?」 mosquitoes replied.


7.未有河流如渴愛。
7. Wild as rivers can』t beat the power of desire.


8.貪欲不是嘴巴或胃,它們無法被滿足。
8. Greed can』t be gratified by mouth or stomach.


15.多數的事情都只是假象,我們卻執著這些錯誤與不確定的事物為真實。
15. Out of attachment, we mistakenly view numerous illusions and errors as reality.


18.日夜無情地流逝,我們是否善用時間?
18. Time passes by relentlessly.  Did we utilize it skillfully?


19.我們都想斷除煩惱,但是我們認識煩惱嗎?
19. We all want to eradicate our afflictions, but do we even know what they look like?


20. 快樂與痛苦出現時,智慧就可能在那時生起。
20. Wisdom is likely to sprout where there are happiness and suffering.


1.有正見的地方,就有平靜。不知道這點,即使獨居也靜不下來。
1. Peace is not to be achieved through solitude but through Right View.


3.如果有人說話刺傷了我們,我們只要如實覺知即可。
3. When people hurt us with their speeches, we just aware pf it as it is.


4.所謂進到法裡,就是向內觀心。
4. Contemplate the  inner nature of your Mind, you can then entering into the stream of Dharma.  


7.如果我們能轉而內觀,就會了解我們自己的生與死和樹沒有兩樣。
7. observe inwardly, you will realize that our life and death is the same as the trees.


10.我們因為渴愛而迷失,被現象愚弄,因此而感到痛苦。
10. Our desire makes us blind to see the reality, from which our pain results.


11.自然的本質不是什麼神秘的事情,在自然中,事物出生、改變,然後結束。
11. There is nothing mysterious about Nature, where everything arises, changes, and then ceases.


13.心不應該陷入善或惡的模糊地帶,因為那會成為歡樂與悲傷的因。
13. Free your mind from the polarity of good and bad, or they will decide your joy and sorrow.  


16.煩惱就是水,行者的心則是荷葉,它們互相接觸,荷花不需要回避水,但是仍然彼此分開。
16. Affliction is like water, while the practitioner』s mind is like the lotus leaves. Separating  the flower from the water, they still allow it to be rooted from it,


17.得與失、毀與譽、稱與譏、苦與樂,合稱世間八法。如果人的內心跟著這些事情走,受到它們擺布,那就稱為俗世與俗人。
17. Gain and loss, honor and disgrace, praise and censure, pleasure and suffering are called the Eight Worldly Winds.  If we have our nose led by them, we are very worldly indeed.


4.如果我們根據欲望行事,永遠沒有結束的一天。
4. If we act on desire, there will be no end of it.


9.如果了解事物的實相,我們就不會演出興奮、得意、悲傷與流淚等戲碼。
9. If we perceive the true nature of all phenomena, we will then abandon all Dramas of  excited-ness, pride, sadness and tears…


10.平靜是真正的快樂,這是透過見到實相與根除貪染而獲得。
10. True happiness is Peace, a state of mind achieved through perceiving the Absolute Reality and freedom from Desire.


12.當一個人覺知時他就會自動出離與放下重擔。
12. In a state of Awareness, one will have genuine Renunciation and naturally let go of all burdens.


16.無論發生什麼事,把它撿起來,檢視它,看清楚。
16. Whatever happens, pick it up, observe it, see properly!


18.安住在正見,無論身處何處,都能安心。
18. A Peaceful Mind is with those who hold proper views.
